Fiber Arts Festival

Have you ever wondered how fabric, yarn, or lace is made? Today it is easy to take these arts for granted, but in the day of the Boones, people had to be self-reliant, creating handmade pieces for themselves and their families. Join us for an interactive day exploring fiber arts on 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30 at The Historic Daniel Boone Home. Walk through our historic village and visit with demonstrators and interpreters as they share their crafts. This program is free and open to all ages. There will be a historic fashion show at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For those looking to learn a new skill, sign up for paper piecing or quilting class, held at 2:30 and 3:15 p.m. Each class is open for pre-registration and has a small materials fee.
