Join for Lawn Chair Night Thursday, June 26 on Washington Street, right outside of Impact Coffee -- featuring High Strung & Fretless! This Lawn Chair Night is the annual "Family Fun Night" in partnership with Decorah Public Library... showcasing activities and ideas to do with your family all summer long. The evening is additionally sponsored by Winneshiek County Economic Development and Tourism, along with Sunflower Child Development and Discovery Center.
The charm is in the simplicity: bring a lawn chair (or a blanket), find a patch of grass or a stretch of sidewalk, and settle in for an evening of great music and community spirit. And the best part — its free! Held on Thursday evenings throughout the summer (June-August), Lawn Chair Night transforms Downtown Decorah into a welcoming concert venue. Whether you’re a fan of bluegrass, jazz, folk, or hometown marching bands, the series features a wide range of musical acts that reflect the heart and soul of the region.

Lawn Chair Night has been a program of Downtown Decorah Betterment for more than 25 years and is one of the community’s most beloved traditions as a weekly summer series of free outdoor concerts that brings locals and visitors together under the open sky. It's now made possible by DDBA in partnership with Visit Decorah Tourism, Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, and Impact Coffee. The 2025 season is generously supported by top sponsors AJ Realty, Oneota Community Food Co-op, and ITC... along with 10+ supporting sponsors for specific nights throughout the season. This free, public event features both local and regional talent.
In the event of rain, the event will be moved inside Impact Coffee. Rain announcements will be made on Facebook's Visit Decorah page and the Downtown Decorah Betterment page.
