The razor-sharp and unsparing lyricist Todd Snider is headed back to The Princess on Saturday, AUG 9. The quintessential shiftless, dope-smoking hippie will bring his eternal truths set against a backdrop of folk and country blended with blues and rock.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
At this point in his storied career, Todd Snider stands among the greatest American songwriters of his generation—a claim attested by the likes of John Prine, Loretta Lynn, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Billy Joe Shaver, and Guy Clark. His songs have been recorded by a wide range of artists, from Loretta Lynn to Tom Jones and Garth Brooks, yet it’s Snider’s one-of-a- kind presence on stage that continues to captivate audiences nationwide.
But Snider is far more than just a master songwriter. He’s a best-selling author, thanks to his memoir I Never Met a Story I Didn’t Like, and he’s crossed over into film: his song “Just Like Old Times” inspired the movie Hard Luck Love Song, in which he performs the track during the closing credits. He stars in the independent cult favorite East Nashville Tonight, co-featuring Elizabeth Cook, and this American Foosball Champion has also somehow even earned rumored acclaim as the inventor of the high five.
Despite his many side quests, it’s his onstage performances that have built Snider’s legendary following. Don’t miss this chance to catch Todd Snider live in Decatur—because, boy, he has a few songs and a few stories to share with you.
Presale to The Princess Theatre members will begins Thursday May 29th at 9AM. Public tickets will go on sale Monday, June 2 at 9AM.
