Big Pollo was formed in 2006 in Lima, Peru, and has established itself as one of the most important acts in the Peruvian musical scene. They have created a unique sound as a result of the eclectic tastes of their members: Chichafunky — a fusion of funk and chicha (Peruvian cumbia).
Big Pollo has been reaching fans all over the globe with their distinctive style. They carried out two European tours during 2022 and 2023, playing at prestigious festivals such as Boomtown Fair in the United Kingdom, where artists like Cypress Hill and The Amy Winehouse Band also performed.
Overall, the band has played 30 concerts across Europe in the UK, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and the Netherlands. They have also toured the United States twice, including performances at the Smashington Music and Arts Festival in Orlando, Florida.
Their fifth album, La Chichafunky, was released in 2023 and produced by Milky Fresh. They now have more than 11,581 Spotify followers worldwide — and the number is growing.
