Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges and be prepared to provide support. The course will teach you how to apply the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan and provides a certification upon completion.

Join a Goodman JFS MHFA Community Training

Meet others in the community, learn how to best support adults in your lives, and earn a 3-year national certification as a Mental Health First Aider! This one-day Adult Mental Health First Aid Course is open to everyone and is provided FREE to the community by Goodman JFS.

What It Covers

• Common signs and symptoms of mental illness
• Common signs and symptoms of substance use
• How to interact with a person in crisis
• How to connect the person with help
• Expanded content on trauma, addiction and self-care
