Congressman James Comer refuses to listen to his constituents, so we are taking our message to his office on Monday.
Indivisible Danville members made 154 calls to Comer over the last two weeks asking him for a town hall and a schedule of his public events during the congressional recess. Our 154 requests have been ignored. Comer has not scheduled any type of listening session, town hall, or other public event. In fact, his office will not even share his schedule with callers.
What we do know is that Comer does interviews with cable news shows multiple times each week. We also know that he has gone to Republican fundraising events in his district while on recess and refused to tell the general public ahead of time.
Comer is hiding and simply does not care what the people of his district want from him. His district is effectively gerrymandered and he is confident that he will be re-elected (unless he decides to run to be governor).
In response, on Monday, August 11, from 11:45am-1:15pm, everyone who expects to he heard by our elected representative is invited to gather in front of James Comer's office and share your message with him.
If Comer doesn't respond to our protest, we will further escalate our demands.
