Ride Details: This ride covers the middle portion of the 100k and 100-mile routes. Highlights of this route include the Vandalia Trail, the CSX rail line, and one historic bridge. 29 miles. PLUS, to celebrate the final ride of the 2025 Zipp Recon Ride Series, this ride will end at the Cup and the Cone ice cream shop in Amo, where Zipp will be buying ice cream for all attendees! We can't think of a better way to end a ride and the series!

About the Zipp Recon Ride Series:
The Zipp Recon Ride Series is back for 2025 and will consist of 3 group rides leading up to the 2025 Dust Bowl 100 presented by Zipp. These rides are open to anyone and everyone (you don’t have to be registered for the Dust Bowl 100 to participate). Each ride will be approximately 30 miles in distance and will cover a different portion of the DB100 race course. Riders that participate in all 3 Zipp Recon Rides and the Zipp Pre-Ride (which takes place the day before the DB100) will see over 90% of the Dust Bowl 100 course before race day! Zipp will be at each ride providing on-site support and snacks.
We are also teaming up again with School of Rocks Greater Lafayette (SoRs) to offer a shorter, mentor-led route option at each ride that will be perfect for beginning cyclists or those just getting into gravel! There will be SoRs mentors at each Recon Ride teaching the basics of gravel riding and offering a route specifically designed for beginners. Anyone that attends all three School of Rocks mentored rides during the Zipp Recon Ride Series will be entered for a chance to register for the SOLD-OUT Dust Bowl 44-mile route (limited to 5 spots)!
