Frontline: Legacy

Frontline: Legacy is a one-day history seminar, set in original WWI aerodrome buildings, exploring how the work and activity of the Great War still resonates today. Compered by eminent local historian Stephen Nunn, the day will include three expert guest speakers: Neil Richardson, talking about The Work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission; Gerard Lohan, telling the story of how enthusiasts built Sophie, the Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter, from scratch in Scotland; and Richard Vary, recounting the challenges of operating a Fokker triplane. The day also includes up-close and personal tours of aircraft, handling sessions and book signings, as well as lunch in The Airmen's Mess café. Tickets £30 plus booking fee.
