Enjoy this FREE community event for trunkers and treaters. The 6th Annual Sensory Friendly Drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat helps individuals and all kids with sensory sensitivities and Autism enjoy a safe and happy kick-off to the Halloween season.
Lots of things keep kids and families with autism or sensory issues from enjoying this great time of year. This event makes sure everyone is included while also sharing awareness, acceptance, understanding, and education.
Common issues may include;
Non-verbal individuals or individuals with limited speech/understanding.
Sensory issues with wearing costumes.
Elopement or wandering with no sense of danger.
Limited focus and attention
This experience helps everyone be included. There's a ton of contests for trunkers, volunteer opportunities for students/groups, sponsorships available, and FUN for everyone.
The ONLY way to sign-up to be a trunker is by signing up at the link provided. Lots of scammers will try to comment to sell vendor spots or tickets. DON'T DO IT. Parenting Autism United is the only organization. Don't contact Dallas School District either as it is not a school event.
Each year we move this event to a different location. We learn every year what we can do better from the previous years and consistently try to improve. We look forward to seeing everyone in their costumes and bonus...no waivers this year! Lines for arrival times will be separated to avoid long waiting times. In the event of inclement weather, we will see if a gym is available to move indoors, but that is not a guarantee. Unless of torrential downpours, this event will happen.
