VE Day 80 Commemoration event

Join us as we mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day with musical performances from the period, a delve into our wartime collections and a series of talks. **>>FREE.<<**

10am - 4pm - VE Day Code Cracker Trail
10am - 4pm - '80 Years of Victory Celebrations' exhibition

11.30 – Singer Elkie J performs wartimes classics to get the toes tapping!
12pm – ‘Our Sweethearts’ – Join Mark Watson for a romping talk on wartime favourites Vera Lynn, Ann Shelton, Drina Ogden and even Max Bygraves!
1pm – Elkie J is back with more vintage classics sure to get you singing along.
1.30 – Get a close look at personal items from our Dame Vera Lynn collection, with a special visit by Dame Vera’s daughter Virginia. (must be booked in advance via Art Tickets)
2.30 – ‘VE Day: They thought it was all over’ – Join David Porter as he explains what really happened between VE Day and VJ Day.
3.15 – Join Elkie J for one last time to end the day in classic style.
