This monthly workshop series pairs slow restorative and/or yin yoga poses with hands on Reiki energy and immersive sound healing. A wellness trifecta!
As you journey through gentle yoga postures, you will receive the healing power of Reiki energy and be immersed in the aligning sounds of various musical vibrations. This will help take you to a deeper state of peace and tranquility. This combination aims to improve physical, mental, energetic and emotional well-being.
Restorative Yoga: allows the body to slow down and relax in a small number of poses. Each pose is held for longer than in conventional classes, sometimes for twenty minutes. The long holding of poses is often assisted with props such as folded blankets, bolsters and blocks to ensure the body is fully supported, allowing the muscles to relax.
Yin Yoga: a more meditative version of the popular physical and spiritual discipline of yoga. The poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues referred to as facia rather than focusing on the muscles. As a result, the asanas are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement.
Reiki: an alternative energy healing modality with roots based in Japan. Recipients of Reiki increase the opportunity to accelerate their body’s natural, innate and internal healing response. There is no physical manipulation whatsoever during a traditional Reiki session; everything is done on a purely energetic level.
Sound bath: a combination of restorative yoga, meditation, and sacred sound concert. The goal of a sound bath isn't to listen and pay attention but rather to let the sound wash over you. Like a bath, all you have to do is just lie back and absorb. Let the sound transport you to deeper levels of consciousness and relaxation.
