BEZEL SET A STONE
Learn to fit, solder, attach a bezel to a backplate, and then solder it onto a ring you make. Sounds easy? Yes, when you have made a lot of them, but until then, you will learn to:
Decide what bezel wire to use.
Measure the correct length for the stone. Cut and file the wire. Close the wire, file as needed
Solder the wire. Refit the stone.
Make the bezel flush with the backplate. Use sandpaper to make needed adjustments
Solder bezel to backplate.
Cut or saw excess silver from the backplate. File to finish the bezel
Make a finger ring (measure wire, cut, file, solder)
Solder bezel to ring, polish ring with bezel, insert stone. Fasten the stone in the bezel, using a bezel rocker and burnisher.
By the end of the session, you will have acquired a new skill set that you can apply in your future silversmithing.
The workshop is only open to members who have completed the Beginning Silversmithing workshop.
