ilderness survival medicine is the practice of medical care in remote, resource-limited, or austere environments where traditional medical facilities are unavailable. It involves assessing, stabilizing, and treating injuries and illnesses that occur during outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, and expeditions, often requiring improvised solutions and adapting to harsh conditions. The field also emphasizes preventative care, risk mitigation, wilderness survival skills, and decision-making for patient evacuation or prolonged care in challenging environments.
