If you want to be surprised by the beauty of a post industrial landscape then this is the hike for you! Aberbeeg happens to be Andy's go to when promoting the Gwent Valleys and then there is so much more of interest on this hike.
Beginning at Llanhilleth, the route trends upwards and then towards Llanhilleth Common, stopping for an exploration of 'Blue Lagoon'. Then it's downhill, skirting Abertillery and picking up a riverside trail that takes us through Aberbeeg, past 'The Guardian' and back to the start point.
This is an easier walk with 14km and 325m of ascent, allowing for plenty of stops and exploration along the way.
