Black Mountain to Ozone Falls

Moderately strenuous for length. ~7 miles.

Crab Orchard / Ozone, TN

Joint hike with the Murfreesboro Chapter. We’ll hike the Ozone Falls Section, Grassy Cove Segment of the CT from the top of Black Mountain south to Ozone Falls. There are beautiful mountaintop views from Black Mountain and the spectacular, 110-foot Ozone Falls plunging into a pool surrounded by an enormous amphitheater at the end. The falls were used in the Disney live action movie the Jungle Book. This trail has an overall descending grade with switchbacks, a few significant hills, and rock steps leading up from the falls. We’ll meet at the Ozone Falls trailhead and shuttle to Black Mountain. Bring plenty of snacks and water, a lunch for the trail, and don’t forget sun and bug protection.
