You’re invited to attend the second in a series of conversations designed to
introduce Indigenous ways of thinking and being as vital tools for healing our communities, dismantling colonial mindsets, and co-creating a future where everyone belongs.
Learning from Indigenous Ways of Weaving Community
A partnership with Tony Cladusbid (Swinomish Tribal Member), Michelle E. Cladusbid (Author & Cultural Center Co-Founder), and Stephanie Nestlerode of 7th Generation Labs
Our initial gathering on June 25th was a tremendous success. The gathering centered on Indigenous truths, lived experiences, and the often-unseen consequences of colonial systems still at play today. Tony’s stories and Michelle’s poetry provided a powerful grounding for the conversations that followed.
Why We’re Gathering
· To begin unlearning systems that center whiteness and silence others.
· To learn from Indigenous practices that bring harmony with all that is
· To create a community that nourishes and supports all. And leads by example.
· To explore how we — especially those of us raised within dominant culture — can support, not overshadow, Indigenous and other marginalized voices.
What to Expect
· Stories from Tony and Michelle about Coast Salish ways of weaving community
· Experience a practice for weaving community from the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the first democracy in the US forged over 800 years ago in what is now New York State
Come with an open heart.
Come ready to listen.
Come ready to grow.
