Strawberry Glean - Argyle Shore

The Food Exchange has been invited to harvest the strawberries remaining after the commercial crop has been picked. The address will be forwarded in private to folks who "join" this event to protect the privacy of the farmer. When you arrive at the farm look for the green VW van where instructions will be given and to sign the release form. If this is your first time gleaning with us please read the Harvest Manual at www.foodexchangepei.com in the resource section. The harvest will be split 1/3 to people who help with the harvest, 1/3 to the farmer who donates it to the community pantry and 1/3 to folks in need. Bring a container to take your share home, suitable footwear, a container to pick in if you have one and water as the day is forecasted to be warm. You may also want to consider bug and sun protection. Children 10 years and over are invited but must be under parent control at all times and please leave pets at home. There is no smoking at the farm, Please arrange car pooling in the comments section on the event page - if you can offer or need a lift. Check back just before the harvest time in case there are any changes due to weather. If you intend to come please "join" the event before 10 pm on July 9th to get the address.
