Come Sing With Us! Weather a beginner or seasoned singer, join us for Music@TheMuseum and a unique opportunity to participate in a traditional, acapella, group singing experience called Shape Note singing.
Talented musician and singer Romy Munkres, along with band mates Ray Knorr and Rowen Gallant would welcome you to The Farmers Bank Museum in Rustico on December 10th for loud, joyful, heartfelt, and wonderfully communal evening of singing. You don’t need experience, training, or even the ability to read music, just the desire to lift your voice with others.
You will be guided through the simple ‘shape” notation and then settle into the warm, powerful sound of four-part harmony sung from the heart. Join us for an evening of learning, singing, and community. Come as you are, bring your curiosity, and discover why people have cherished this tradition for generations.

While all three now call PEI home, Romy, the evenings leader, is from Vermont, Ray is from Saskatchewan and Rowen is from Rustico. Over the last two years, they frequently found themselves sharing tunes at dances, sessions, and other music events, and soon discovered a shared love of fiddle accompaniment, harmonies, and spontaneous arrangements in a wide variety of styles.
