PAUL ARTHUR BAND
Award-Winning Montreal Bluesman PAUL ARTHUR, (vocals/harmonica), in his many years of music-making, brings his boundless energy & amazing talent to every performance.
Called ‘THE MASTER BLUESMAN’ by some of Montreal’s top Blues musicians, it's also been said that: “Paul Arthur is still one of the best at doing the Muddy Waters style - Chicago Blues feel.”
In 2015, Paul Arthur won 'THE BATTLE OF THE BLUES BANDS', competing against 15 of Montreal's top Blues Bands.
The Grand Prize was a First Class trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2016, where the band performed at an iconic Bourbon Street Blues Club.
Paul Arthur's powerful gravelly voice has been compared to Joe Cocker, Johnny Winter, Louis Armstrong, & Tom Waits, and his harmonica style to Paul Butterfield & the late great Little Walter, but Paul Arthur is definitely unique, with a style all his own.
Paul has a great passion for the old time Bluesmen like Sonny Boy Williamson, T-Bone Walker, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, & Willie Dixon.
Paul has performed at many Blues Festivals performing all the popular powerhouse Blues classics like: Sweet Home Chicago, Mojo, & Hoochie Coochie Man, but Paul really enjoys singing some of the earliest Blues tunes of the 1950's as well as Tom Waits.
