Learn wheel throwing in a weekend in the cozy pottery workshop at Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus.
This pottery course will teach you everything you need to know and help you master the throwing techniques. You will practice and improve your skills at every stage of throwing, until you feel completely comfortable and confident. You will have the opportunity to turn narrow, wide, high and low. The choice is yours. The starting point is to get to know the clay on the wheel. Each student has their own potter's wheel, which they can use at any time during the course.
Who can join?
You can join as a beginner or intermediate student. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to try their hand at pottery for the first time or for those who have tried it before and want to improve.
About the teacher
Szabina Lòcki is a dedicated ceramic artist and educator based in Copenhagen, known for her thoughtful and intuitive approach to teaching wheel-throwing and ceramic craftsmanship. Originally from Hungary, Szabina brings a quiet precision and strong artistic vision to her work, which centers around wheel-thrown stoneware with clean, functional forms and natural surfaces.
Since founding her own ceramics studio in 2021, she has spent the past years not only creating her own work but also coordinating studio programs and leading classes for beginners and more advanced students alike. With over four years of teaching experience, Szabina offers calm presence, clear instruction, and ability to adapt her guidance to each student’s pace and learning style. She emphasizes the physical rhythm and meditative nature of working with clay, helping students develop not only technical skill but also creative confidence.
Whether teaching a weekend course or mentoring long-term students, Szabina fosters an atmosphere of focus, experimentation, and respect for material—inviting each person to find their own connection to clay.

Ceramic workshop at Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus
We all help to ensure that the workshops are healthy and clean to spend time in, the price of the course is for teaching and materials, and students are expected to take part in cleaning and tidying up on an equal footing with other users
Practical info
The workshop may only be used during teaching hours.
The course runs over a weekend and a wednesday evening.
Program:
· Saturday the 16th of august from 10:00 to 16:00 - centering throwing simple shapes
· Sunday the 17th of august from 10:00 to 16:00 - trimming, adding elements (eg. handle), decoration
· Wednesday the 27th of august form 17:00- 21:00 - glazing
The course takes place at Keramikværkstedet in Lyrskovgade 2-4, 4th floor, 1758 Copenhagen V.
The price for the course is DKK 800,- including 3 kg of clay.
Remember practical clothes and lunch.
