Help support replacing trailmarkers at John Topits!🚶♂️🚶♀️
Enter your dog into our contest! 🏆
The City of Coos Bay Parks (AAPPP) is inviting the public to the 2nd Dog Days Summer at John Topits Park-Middle Empire Lake (off Hull Street) on Saturday, August 16. The AAPPP has a fantastic co-sponsor for this year’s event: The South Coast Shopper.
There will be guided walks for those who want to become familiar with the park trails, the Dog Strut, with prizes for Best Costume, Paw-sitively Polite and Judges Choice. All dogs wishing to participate in the Dog Strut must be on a 6 foot or shorter leash and under owner’s control at all time for the safety and enjoyment of ALL participants.
The purpose of the event is to raise funds for replacement of the trail markers in the park by “adopters”. Since August is National Dog Month and Clear the Shelter Month, the event will again this year partner with Friends of Coos County Animals (FOCCAS
https://friendsofcooscountyanimals.org/donate ) to receive donations in cash or supplies to help our furry friends find a forever home. We will also emphasize the use of compostable dog waste bags, elimination of micro-plastics in our watershed and proper disposal of pet waste while in Coos Bay Parks.
Join City of Coos Bay Parks AAPPP and The South Coast Shopper for lots of outdoor fund and recreation in John Topits Park!
