Saturday Special Doubleheader: Autographing AND a Taste of Japan

Welcome! Join us again on Saturday to celebrate the imminent induction of Ichiro Suzuki with a toast to his achievement and a self-guided tour of the artworks of 15 artists featured in Samurai Baseball and More: a fine arts look at baseball! In addition to sampling Japanese fare, the two-hour event also will present the opportunity to obtain autographs for several rare, artsy baseball items -- literary and artistic hard-to-find books ! (1) a superb biography of Ichiro Suzuki, produced and edited by Cooperstown's Elmer Luke, and the renown Diamonds are Forever: Artists and Writers on Baseball, which can be autographed by its Cooperstown visual arts curator. Sample Japanese treats and beverages, some sponsored by Chichibu. Japanese speakers will be present throughout, so don t be shy! Artists present will include David Wilson, creator of several samurai baseball sculptures featured in the gallery, and Ada Yonenaka, whose timely, ceremonial 'Ichiro Wave' art piece in the show is already a collector s item!
