After the incredible success of our first Bistro Blues Sit-In Session on the Sunny Coast, we are getting ready to do it all again!
The Bistro Blues Sit-In Sessions are intimate, relaxed gigs featuring invited guest artists from across SEQ, sitting in with 'The Slick Chix' for a soulful afternoon of blues, stories, and community.
These relaxed, by-invitation jam sessions are all about shining a light on the incredible blues talent from across SEQ.
🎤 Each month, we’ll spotlight one incredible blues artist or act
🗣️ In between songs, we’ll chat with them on stage — hear their stories, inspirations, and what makes them tick.
🍽️ Grab lunch from the bistro between 11:30AM and 2:00PM
🎶 Music kicks off at 1PM
It’s not just a gig — it’s a conversation, a jam, and a gathering of our blues-loving community. Come feel the music, meet the artists, and be part of something truly special.

ABOUT OUR SEPTEMBER GUEST ARTIST - ROSS WARD
Ross is a full-time musician, performer & singer-songwriter, with a rich career dating back to 1969. Over the decades, he has worked with some of the biggest names in Australian Music.
As the band-leader of 'Wards Xpress' and as a solo artist, Ross has performed at nearly every major festival in the country.
He's produced two consecutive no 1 albums on the Australian Blues & Roots charts, and his video for "Man Of the Road" reached No. 15 on the CMC Most Requested' chart in 2016.
After relocating from Sydney to Brisbane in 2024, Ross reformed Ward's Xpress and is preparing to release a new EP with the band, all the while continuing his busy solo schedule.
Known for his versatility and sharp sense of humour, Ross effortlessly crosses genres and has contributed to 35 recording projects as a session player for other artists.
His motto- "Give the people what they want, in any given situation", continues to guide his work.
Ross played 150 gigs in 2023, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon!

Hailing from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, this all-female Blues band, delivers an onstage vibe that is purely contagious.
Their recipe for the Blues is One part Chicago, a few drops of Soul,a good dash of Gospel & a little pinch of Country.
They serve it up HOT, with a BIG sound & a Double helping of Joy!
With a passion for the genre that is clearly evident in every
performance ‘The Chix’ mine every last ounce of emotion from
some of the greatest blues tunes ever written.
Coupling that with some tasty original tunes that sit along side the
classics with ease, is what makes this one Crowd-Pleasing, Foot-
