FRIDAY MOVIE NIGHT: Almost Famous (Director's Cut)

Almost Famous is a 2000 coming-of-age film, written and directed by Cameron Crowe, based on his experiences as a teenage music journalist covering the band Stillwater for Rolling Stone. The film follows 15-year-old William Miller as he joins the band on tour, navigating the world of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll while trying to write an honest piece for the magazine. It explores themes of journalism, love, family, and the intoxicating yet potentially corrupting influence of the music industry. The movie is known for its soundtrack featuring classic rock songs and its portrayal of the vibrant, yet sometimes chaotic, world of 1970s rock.

A film series curated by local film critic and radio D.J. Alec Kerr. Screenings include an intro talk and Q&A session after the movie.
