Yours (and your dog’s) favourite charity walk is back! Grab your lead, lace up your shoes, and join us for Walk for Wag 2025 - a fun-filled day raising important funds to help end loneliness for older dog lovers.
Choose to walk 8km or 3km, with or without your dog, along the beautiful Derwent Reservoir near Consett (not to be confused with Derwent in the Lakes!).
Every sponsored step you take helps bring Wag friends to elderly dog lovers in our communities, with a fundraising target of £50 per adult walker. You can check out our Fundraising A to Z on the website for ideas on how to fundraise!
But the fun doesn’t stop there…
It’s a fantastic day out with loads going on - a tombola, our Super Prize Raffle, a tempting cake stand, the Waggy Tails Fun Dog Show, a brilliant face painter, Hexham Uketeers, local police dogs, and so much more.
There’s no charge to take part, and you’ll get free parking, dog treats, walker treats, t-shirts, dog bandanas, and wag water bottles - all to say thanks for helping us make a difference.
Our goal this year is to have 230 walkers, so bring your furry friends, work colleagues, family, and the kids. Everyone’s welcome for a day that’s fun and helps to provide Wag friends for older people across the North East.
Make sure to register online to get your walker number and join the fun!
We can’t wait to see you there.
