Join us for some Texas Rallycross Night Racing and Fireworks.
We start as soon as the sun is low enough to not blind us.
This is NOT a points race.
This is all about having fun with cars and fireworks.
We will set up the timing system and keep track of run times with some really cool prizes, and set-up a fireworks and car display to go off at midnight.
Rallycross Event Rules
Event Entry Fee – $40 per driver for a single day event. Multiple day events will have prices posted in event details. Spectator entry is FREE. Everyone MUST fill out and sign a waiver.
Registration – Cash and credit card payments will be accepted for on site registration.
Age Restrictions - Drivers 13-16 of age will be allowed, based on our discretion, as long as they are accompanied by parent/guardian, and waivers have been filled out and signed. They must exhibit capable driving skills and they must have an experienced co-driver in the vehicle with them at all times.
Timing System – Stopwatches and Spreadsheet logging. We are working on acquiring a proper timing system and hope to have such later this year. Records will be kept and posted online.
Points and Penalties – Point system for the series will be; 1st place 8 pts. 2nd place 6 pts. 3rd place 4 pts. and 4th place 2 pts. An additional point will be awarded in each class for fastest time of the day and/or no cone penalties.
+2 seconds will be added to your lap time for each standing cone hit sufficient enough to expose the flag underneath. Missed gates will be +10 seconds added to your lap time. Not completing the course (DNF) will result in you slowest time of the day plus 10 seconds for that run. All lap times for the day will be added together. Each lap counts so try to keep it clean.
Tech – A safety inspection will be required for each vehicle entered in the event. Tech inspection will check to verify that there are no loose items in or outside the vehicle, battery must be secure, no fluid leaks that could cause a fire or environmental hazards. Lug nuts are tight, brakes must have sufficient fluid in the master cylinder and no apparent hydraulic leaks and shall be operational at all four wheels and seat belts need to be in good working condition. If already paid a refund will be provided if a car fails the safety inspection. All helmets meeting the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010, M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98), SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable.
Work Assignments – This only works well if we all work together. If you are competing you must work. When your class is not competing you will be given a work assignment. Work assignments are; setup, tech inspection, corner worker, starting line, grid, timing, photography, videography, and/or safety.
Pre Race Activities – These will consist of registration, tech, course walk and drivers meeting. Please be on sit and ready to race before 9:00 am. Coffee and donuts will be available in the morning. If you desire to work pre race duties such as safety inspection or course setup please be on site and ready before 7:30 am.
After Race Activities – These activities will consist of course tear down, trash pick up and awards ceremonies. We love it if you stay afterwards and join us all for awards ceremonies.
Lunch - At each event lunch, snacks, and drinks are available for purchase. Bottled water is always available for free. Always stay hydrated. Lunch menu will change for each event.
Vehicle/Driver Safety –
a. Driver’s window may not be down more than 2″ during course runs unless it is equipped with a window net and/or arm restraints. This also applies to any passengers in the car. We recommend having your windows all the way up.
b. Drivers and passengers are required to wear seat belts during course runs. Race harnesses are recommended but not required.
c. Roll cages are not required on most cars, but if installed it is recommended they be built according to stage rally rules and specifications. Roll cages and a secured roof covering is required on convertibles.
d. Helmets must be worn by all drivers and passengers during competition.
e. In order to participate at night or in low light events, adequate forward lighting will be required. At least one working tail light and sufficient forward facing white lights to see adequately in the dark are required.
f. All cameras in or on the car must be securely fastened to the car. Drones are allowed but you are responsible for following FAA regulations. If you are flying near vehicles and people intentionally make sure to have their permission to do so beforehand.
