--The Cause--
All proceeds support River Relief's efforts to build knowledge and understanding of the Missouri River through hands-on experiences that deepen people's connection and sense of responsibility to the river. Our mission is to connect individuals and communities to the river, giving them an opportunity to make the river part of their story. We do this through river cleanups, education programs, and recreation. Read more about our mission here-

--A little history about the sale--
In 2018, the idea of having a rummage sale to raise some money came up. We gathered, we priced, we held the sale. We took in $400 bucks. Another group shared with me that they had done really well without pricing items, asking instead that items be paid for with a donation. The very next year we nixed the pricing and sold by donation. We made $4,000.
The next thing we noticed was the quality of our donated items was increasing. Our donors respected our cause! That’s when I said, “Maybe this isn’t a rummage sale.” As I cleaned, painted, or repaired some donated items to make them as worthy as others, I said, “This is more of a recycle sale.”
Now we have a recycle sale of donated items and the buyer pays with a monetary donation to Missouri River Relief.
Thank you to Ruthie for hosting this cleanup in benefit of MRR, and to the crew and donors who help make it possible!
