About the event

Get Creative With Encaustics And Mixed Media Painting
Work in the fascinating medium of encaustics and discover endless possibilities. Using an electric griddle as your palette, enjoy painting in encaustics, a hot wax-based paint composed of beeswax, damar resin, and pigment. As you apply layers of wax, see the amazing effects such as translucency. Techniques taught include fusing, carving, integrating collage elements, and working with oil sticks to emphasize texture. You are welcome to bring drawings, prints, and photos to incorporate in your creations. All supplies provided.
