A History of Place: A One Read Talk With Historian Brooks Blevins

In connection with this year's One Read book, Daniel Mason’s "North Woods," historian and writer Dr. Brooks Blevins will examine how the layered history of a single location can reveal deeper truths about culture, memory and change. Learn how rural Missouri communities have evolved over the past 150 years, and explore storytelling, regional identity and the passage of time.

Brooks Blevins is the Noel Boyd Professor of Ozarks Studies at Missouri State University in Springfield. He is the author or editor of more than a dozen books, including the recent "History of the Ozarks" trilogy. His podcast, "The Old Ozarks," runs on the "Ozark Podcast" feed every other week.
