2025 AAHGSCS Open House

Mark your calendars for AAHGSCS 44rd Anniversary Open House with the African American Historical and Genealogical Society of Colorado Springs (AAHGSCS) on 18 October, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm.

We are celebrating our 44th anniversary as a non profit organization and their 16th anniversary as a museum! The Open House event will feature historical presentations, guided tours of the museum, lunch, and keynote about Colorado's Black History Bill, also known as House Bill 25-1149.

As the only African American historical and genealogical society with a museum in the state, it is our responsibility to keep this history alive.

This event will be open to the public, but we can’t do this without your support. We are asking for a donation toward our Open House event as we continue to educate the community about the role the African American Historical & Genealogical Society or Colorado Spring plays in preserving the history of Black community members of the Pikes Peak region.
