Procreate 101: Exploring Digital Illustration (ONLINE)

Are you a traditional artist who has always wanted to explore digital art but aren’t sure where to get started? Are you overwhelmed every time you open your iPad to experiment with drawing? Look no further than this exciting online workshop, where we will learn the basics of layers, brushes, blending, gradient maps, and more. Having a working knowledge of digital art will not only expand the possibilities of your artwork, it will lay the foundation for a valuable skill set to anyone interested in pursuing a career in illustration or design. Students will leave the workshop with a working knowledge of the Procreate app, an affordable and streamlined alternative to Adobe Photoshop for creating dynamic illustration work, logos, and even animations.
Students should bring their own iPad+stylus with the Procreate app installed. The app can be purchased for a one-time fee of $12.99 from the Apple App Store.Students should bring their own iPad+stylus.
This is an online workshop. Participants will make art at home with live guidance from our instructors.
What you’ll need:
- Internet access.
- An internet-connected device with audio and video capabilities. A computer or laptop is highly recommended, but participants can join by phone or tablet if needed.
- Zoom, which will be our primary platform. No account is required, and secure links and passwords will be provided.
- Adequate space for making art.
- Supplies. Participants are responsible for securing their own iPad+stylus with the Procreate app installed. The app can be purchased for a one-time fee of $12.99 from the Apple App Store.
