HISTORY OF OUR COLLEGE
St. Lucia's College, located in Kotahena, Colombo 13, is a prominent Roman Catholic educational institution in Sri Lanka.
Established in 1880, it stands as the fourth Catholic school and the third boys' school founded by the Catholic Church in Colombo, reflecting the growing demand for quality education during that period.
Initially managed by the Ministry of Education as a government school, St. Lucia's College has since come under the administration of the Archbishop.
The school offers primary and secondary education in Sinhala, Tamil and English mediums for students from Grade 1 to Grade 11, with recent plans to re-introduce Advanced Level (A/L) classes.
The college's motto, "Pro Deo et Patria" translates to "For God and Country," encapsulating its commitment to spiritual and national values.
St. Lucia's College shares a deep historical connection with St. Lucia's Cathedral, the oldest and largest parish cathedral in Sri Lanka, over the years, St. Lucia's College has played a significant role in the educational landscape of Colombo, contributing to the academic and moral development of countless students who have become loyal citizen to our country.

• Venue: New Kathiresan Hall, Bambalapitiya, Colombo-04
• Expected Attendance: 1000
• Description: A night of mesmerizing musical performances featuring entertaining singers from south India, and title winners of Singers Local TV Channels and Locals singers recognized at TV Musical show in India and Sri Lankans bands, and student musicians. A perfect blend of entertainment and engagement.
College Walk
• Date: 31st May 2025 @ 8.00 am
• Venue: Starting at College Ground and walk around Surroundings of Kotahena
• Expected Attendance: 2500
• Description: A fun and energetic walkathon across the college, promoting health, fitness, and community bonding.
