Join the Collingwood Garden Club for our June 11, 2025 meeting - The Outrageously Beautiful Peony, with Marianne Lepa, Master Gardener.

The Old Farmer's Almanac has famously said: "Peonies are outrageously beautiful in bloom". Anyone who has seen a peony in bloom wouldn't argue with that. There are species of peonies native to nearly every northern hemisphere region - even North America. Old fashioned herbaceous types are often found growing wild around abandoned rural homesteads.

In this talk we will cover the three main types of peonies, the six officially recognized forms, and the dozens of cultivars. We will cover cultivation, division, and the diseases that can afflict these generally resilient plants.

Members, no-charge, Non-members $5.00 for the meeting or join the Collingwood Garden Club, for a yearly fee of $20 single, $30 family. Memberships run from October 1 of one year to September 30 of the following year.
