Let yourself be carried away by 90 minutes of wonderful music, courtesy of the José Almarcha Trio, where through the different flamenco styles, you will experience a variety of emotions and feelings. This concert is flamenco music in its purest form, tinged with elements of jazz.
In this thrilling performance, you will experience harrowing moments accompanied by an exposed and powerful guitar, percussion that will infuse the music with power, energy, and rhythmic vitality, and the piano will bring jazzy notes that harmonise with flamenco sounds - a perfect fit, considering that both genres originate from the cries of oppressed people.
José Almarcha: Born in Tomelloso, Castilla La Mancha (the land of Don Quijote), José started playing guitar at a very young age and then went on to study flamenco at the Cordoba Conservatory of Music with great masters of the instrument such as Paco Serrano and Niño de Pura.
A veritable virtuoso, with an extensive artistic career, he is a previous winner of the prestigious International Flamenco Guitar Competition, Niño Ricardo.
José's tireless exploration of the instrument has allowed him to develop his own personal language, which also highlights his outstanding technique.
He regularly composes for and performs with Spanish dance companies, such as Olga Pericet, Marcos Flores, Antonio Canales, Sara Calero, and José Manuel Álvarez.
Following the excellent reception of his debut album, Vejézate, José released his follow-up, Alejandra, in 2023, and this year released his third, Un Nuevo Paseo.
