The Medder Gallery is proud to present The Spring Exhibition of the latest Oil Paintings and exclusive Greetings Cards by Ukrainian Artist Michael (Mykhailo) Velychko to be held at the
renowned Sentinel Gallery in Wivenhoe from 29th April to 4th May 2025 from 10 am to 5.00 pm daily.
There will be approximately 40 paintings for sale, each with its own unique story. There will also be exclusive Greeting Cards and Calendars featuring his Art. In addition, there will be hand-
knitted dolls made by Babushki (Ukrainian Grandmothers).
Due to the current situation in his homeland Michael will not be able to be present but the Medder Gallery has worked with him
since 2017 and can answer any questions.
Michael paints original works in Oil on Canvas and has sold approaching 200 paintings all over Europe and America with the paintings shipped directly or via Austria. Every painting has been
painted and framed in Ukraine with many of those painted during the current situation. Michael feels strongly that Art is not so much the embodiment of Joy but rather evidence of expression.

Michael is from Eastern Ukraine and just 30 years old now, he started painting at age 5 and later graduated from Art School in Ukraine with a B.A. in Art.
He also designed two of their Christmas Postage stamps in 2019 and also for 2022.
When the conflict in Ukraine started, Michael asked for help in earnest and so the Medder Gallery was set up to help, not for profit. We are especially grateful to The Sentinel Gallery for
allowing us to use this wonderful space in the iconic Artist’s paradise and Riverside village on the banks of the River Colne near Colchester.
The exhibition is curated by The Medder Gallery and all profits to the Artist, his Family and to Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid with a supporting percentage to the Rob George Foundation which
provides practical and or financial support to young people with life threatening or terminal illnesses.
The Sentinel Gallery is at Chapel Road Wivenhoe CO7 9DX. There is a nearby Car Park and Wivenhoe Station is within a short walk.
