Ever been told you're funny or fancied a go at stand-up comedy but not sure where to start?
Wivenhoe Funny Farm are hosting a one day comedy workshop on Saturday 2nd August from 11am to 3.30pm with a short 30min lunch break at 1pm at the Wyvern Room in the William Loveless Hall, Wivenhoe. We will look at different types of comedy, generating funny material, creating one-liners and other types of joke, using stories, structuring & editing a set, comedy characters, act-outs, improv and performance tips, timing, dealing with nerves, managing hecklers, mic technique, getting gigs & how to deliver a set at a gig. The day will lead towards creating a short "set" and performing this and getting feedback and advice.
Cost of the workshop will be £90 per person, but course graduates will be able to get follow up advice via email after the course and also would be welcome to perform at a charity comedy showcase to be organised in Autumn 2025.
