“Should you and all the young people you know see this show?
Yes Yes Yes. Yes Yes Yes. YES YES YES.” - Theatreview
Jamie and Ari like each other. Hannah and Tom do too ;)
They might be at two separate parties, but their stories are identical – until they really aren’t.
Part confession, part documentary, part open conversation,
Yes Yes Yes is a theatre show created for young people to explore the knotty but very necessary topics of healthy relationships, consent, and desire. Combining innovative and engaging theatre craft with best practice consent education, Yes Yes Yes provides a safe emotional place for audiences to engage with challenging issues.
The show follows two storylines.
Performer, Hannah, tells her story. She met a guy called Tom at a party and slept with him that night.
Hannah tells the story in present time over the course of three monologues throughout the show. It’s an example of how hooking up can be fun, safe, and positive.
The other storyline follows Ari, a teenager, who also goes to a party and is sexually assaulted by someone called Jamie. This story begins after the fact, with Ari’s friends trying to figure out how to handle what happened. It’s told through audience participation: volunteers are invited to stand onstage at mics and read the script, together with Hannah.
“…funny, thoughtful and entirely relatable.I can't recommend this highly enough; it should be a must for teens and their caregivers.” - NZ Herald
