September walk: West Barwon Dam to Lake Elizabeth

Location: West Barwon Dam to Lake Elizabeth, Forest

Distance: 15.5km circuit / 6 hours

Difficulty level: medium

Meeting point: West Barwon Dam

Highlights: a hike from the Barwon Water catchment dam to the fern-filled valley of Lake Elizabeth. This lake formed naturally after a landslide in the 1950s. The trail takes the full way around the stunning lake, with gorgeous views, towering tree ferns and if we're lucky, we might even spot a platypus

Additional info:
There is the option to shorten the walk by skipping the West Barwon Dam segment and meet the group once they arrive at Lake Elizabeth, and just join for the circuit walk around the lake (4.3kms).
As always, we'll be setting a slow and steady pace, with plenty of time to stop and enjoy nature 💚
