Butterfly Celebration

Come join the fun at the Brevard Discovery Garden and learn all about butterflies! There will be a butterfly information table along with fun activities planned for both kids and adults. UF/IFAS Brevard County Urban Horticulture Agent Sally Scalera will deliver a presentation at 9:30 on butterflies, their host and nectar plants. Our expert Master Gardeners will be available afterwards for Q&As on all things related to butterflies, including their life cycle and migration.

Take a tour of the BDG's Pollinator Gardens to capture photos or videos of butterflies flitting around. Each photo taken that day and emailed to Brevard Discovery Garden will give the participant an opportunity to win a beautiful potted plant full of butterfly host plants and nectar plants.

Before you go home, stop by the BDG nursery, which will be open from 10:30-12 Noon. You'll find several varieties of Florida-friendly and Native pollinator plants available for your home garden.

Admission to the Butterfly Celebration is free, but we are requesting people sign up through Eventbrite for planning purposes. A donation to the Brevard Discovery Garden of $5 is suggested on the day of the event to help cover the garden's overhead costs.
