St John Passion

Bach’s musical portrayal of the Easter story, sung in English, is both a dramatic and moving experience. The audience is taken on a journey through faith, betrayal and redemption which is told through arias, beautiful chorales and choruses from the choir representing the baying crowd insisting only Caesar should be king. It concludes with Jesus being buried, with the poignant final chorus, Sleep Well, offering solace and lifegiving hope for the future.
