This concert reimagines the Guzheng beyond its usual setting, placing it in dialogue with a Western string quartet. As textures intertwine and musical roles evolve, familiar boundaries begin to soften.

By situating the Guzheng in varied settings throughout the programme, the performance reflects on how recontextualisation shapes the way we understand musical roles. When an instrument appears where it is not typically expected, something changes. Not in the instrument itself, but in the way we experience it.
