Garden Explorers is the kid-focused fun happening each week during Fresh on Fridays at Central Gardens. Every Friday morning features hands-on learning, outdoor play, nature-inspired crafts and more—perfect for families looking for something fresh, free, and fun!

June 6 – Insect Collecting with Lime Creek Nature Center, Floral Arranging with ISU Extension and Outreach, and fun with Healthy Harvest of North Iowa
June 13 – Egg Lesson with ISU Extension and Outreach and Giant Games & Book Bike with Clear Lake Public Library
June 20 – Instrument Petting Zoo with the Surf Ballroom & Museum, Bug Crafts with Clear Lake Arts Center, and Upcycled Zipper Bag Craft with Iowa Waste Exchange
June 27 – Garden Discovery Activities with ISU Extension Master Gardeners
July 11 – Show Stock Buddies Practice Animal Show with ISU Extension and Outreach, Insect Collecting with Lime Creek Nature Center, and Giant Games & Book Bike with Clear Lake Public Library

July 25 – Make-and-Take Ladybug Craft using recycled CDs with Iowa Waste Exchange
August 1 – Energy Bites with Kids in the Kitchen and Giant Games & Book Bike with Clear Lake Public Library
August 8 – Butterfly Craft with Clear Lake Arts Center and Fruit Pizzas with Kids in the Kitchen
August 15 – Make-and-Take Home Décor from Upcycled Materials with Iowa Waste Exchange, Insect Collecting with Lime Creek Nature Center, and a special appearance by Cy the Cyclone from ISU Extension and Outreach
