Fire, Timber, Wildlife & Cattle Field Tour at ODWC Pushmataha WMA

Join us at the Fire, Timber, Wildlife & Cattle Field Tour at Pushmataha Wildlife Management Area on Friday, September 26th, 2025, from 11 AM – 5 PM! Explore over 19,000 acres of diverse landscapes and see firsthand how land management shapes forests and wildlife habitat. Visit demonstration plots treated with nine different management strategies across the WMA. See results from 40+ years of research!

Topics include:

• Commercial & noncommercial timber harvest
• Management impacts on wildlife and cattle forage
• Fire frequency & plant responses
• Forest stand improvement (FSI)
• Invasive sericea lespedeza & tall fescue control

Directions from Clayton: At the intersection of State Hwy 2 and U.S. Hwy 271, go 1.8 miles south on U.S. Hwy 271 (look for 4x8 ft. WMA sign), ½ mile west on Game Refuge Road, sign at the “T” in the road directs WMA visitors to the south (left), 3 miles to headquarters.
