-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Theatre at Da Hall presents; “Between a Rock and a Hard Place” written by Mary Abbott, Gerard Bailey, Frank Barry, Vicky Hammond, Glen Loder, and Stephanie Squires, and directed by Moya Taylor.
In February 1983, the Town of Burin faced a devastating blow when Fishery Products shut down its main processing plant—the community’s largest employer. What followed was a determined fight to overturn that decision and protect the livelihoods of local residents. “Between a Rock and a Hard Place” captures this struggle; reflecting the town’s efforts to save its fishery, as well as the historical, social, cultural, and economic realities that shaped Burin’s identity.
