Three Cents in a Ditch:
Honouring the Bag Ladies of Hant’s Harbour and 30+ Years of Preserving Heritage with the Willow Tree Heritage Society
Join us for a heartwarming afternoon as we celebrate the incredible women whose small act of picking up bottles and cans from the roadside sparked a 30-year legacy of community care and heritage preservation. We’re thrilled to welcome special guests Dale Jarvis of Heritage NL and Pauline Thornhill, host and producer of the Land and Sea episode, who will both share reflections on the power of storytelling, stewardship, and small beginnings.
Beginning at the Custard Head Fishing Premises with a plaque presentation from Dale Jarvis and Heritage NL, we will then move to the Hant’s Harbour Recreation Centre for a special screening of CBC’s Land and Sea episode “The Bag Ladies,” which tells their remarkable story with humour, heart, and pride.
Come be inspired and celebrate how three cents in a ditch turned into something priceless.
