About the event

RCCA Monthly Meeting with speaker Brian Jackson
The Rogers County Cherokee Association (RCCA) invites the public to its monthly community gathering on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the RCCA Community Building, 15488 East 523 Road, Claremore, OK 74019 (east of Tiawah-Justus School North Campus).

This month’s event will feature archery and hatchet throwing led by Brian Jackson, a 12-time Guinness World Record holder known around the world as “The I Believe Guy.” Jackson, who has appeared on America’s Got Talent, Stan Lee’s Superhumans, and multiple international television specials, brings his unique blend of athletic skill and motivational speaking to the RCCA stage.

Due to excessive rainfall, RCCA’s annual Cherokee cornstalk shoot was canceled this year because of crop loss, but Jackson’s visit ensures a thrilling substitute.

Doors open at 1:00 p.m., followed by a hotdog cookout at 1:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Door prize drawings will be held throughout the afternoon.

At 1:45 p.m., the meal will wrap up ahead of the 2:00 p.m. business meeting, which includes officer vacancies, budget discussions, and time for remarks or questions for any Cherokee Nation Tribal Council members in attendance. Copies of the meeting agenda are available from the RCCA Secretary.

Following the business portion, the community will gather for traditional Cherokee games facilitated by Jackson. All equipment will be provided.

The RCCA Cherokee Community Choir will meet after the business meeting to rehearse with Interim Choir Director Cara Cowan Watts.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. RCCA membership is encouraged and available for $10/year for individuals or $25/year for households. Cherokee Nation citizens 18 and older are eligible for General Membership; others may join as Associate Members.

Upcoming RCCA Events:
Sunday, August 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. – Cherokee Nation citizen Perry VanBuskirk presents Traditional Cherokee Weaponry

Saturday, October 11, 2025 – Bigfoot Stories with Woody Hansen, bonfire, hotdog and s’mores cookout, 4:00 p.m. meeting with officer nominations, and 5:00 p.m. chili competition & dinner
