Art Night Out: Soundscape and Sketches

Join us on Thursday, May 22 at 6:00 PM for an evening of art, music, and community at the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art. No experience necessary, just bring your creativity and an open mind. We will learn about artistic process and listen to the musical stylings of Daniel Talton. Instructors Rachel Deane and Mads Gobbo will lead the class through a series of drawing warmups and exercises, working up to sketching a model live by the end of the night. Class will take place on the plaza in front of the historic Claremont Depot building, to better enjoy the sunset. Wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, light finger foods , and all materials are included.

Hand Follows Eye Studios is a mobile art school with accessible workshops for artists of all skill levels, founded by Rachel Deane and Mads Gobbo. Our workshops encourage exploration and make space for failure and fun in a supportive, non judgemental environment. Through collaborative exercises and guided lessons we practice art as a way to care for and honor the body.

Hand Follows Eye Studios has partnered with Nova Community Arts to produce regular ticketed workshops. We have worked with organizations such as NeueHouse, The Ace Hotel, The Culver Hotel, The LA Zoo, The Altadena Library District, Element Art Center, Little Green Art Studio, Junior High LA and the Other Art Fair.
