18th Annual Hummingbird Banding Event

Join the rangers as we demonstrate how we capture, record and band Ruby-throated Hummingbirds here at Riverbend Park!

Watch our two federally-licensed hummingbird banders weigh, measure and tag the birds, hear them share their knowledge, have your questions answered and enter the drawing for a chance to hold and release a banded hummingbird!

Drop by anytime between 7:30 and 11am on the first two Saturdays in August for this unique experience. The event is held at Riverbend Park's special event entrance located at 7490 River Bend Road, Claremont, NC 28610. There is no cost to participate and all are welcome!

*Please note that there are no public restrooms available, but there is a porta potty is on site at the parking area.
