Free community event and open to the public!
Bring your family and join us at Spruce Knob Mountain Center to fly kites – bring a kite, make a kite, buy a kite, or just watch – and celebrate the sky and the wind that is a constant presence on our high plains!
Kite flying will begin at noon and continue through the afternoon. Beer garden will open at 2pm. We will then move down to our yurts where there will be live music, a bonfire and other evening activities. The whole day will feature food trucks, WV beer and cider, games, and more!
Feel free to camp onsite, under our amazing night sky to end the day with stargazing! Primitive camping will be available for $10/night and payment will be accepted at the welcome tent.
All proceeds from this event will go towards our work in continuing to make outdoor educational experiences available to all.
Our wild campus, which is surrounded by the Monongahela National Forest, lies at 4000′ on the shoulder of West Virginia's highest peak, Spruce Knob. Whether you're coming up for the day or spending the weekend, there's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area!
