Mindful making with a calming purpose—after school!
Join The Mindfulness Movement at Turtle Lake Elementary School for Make & Take: Calming Creations, a 3-week after-school enrichment series where students in grades 1–5 explore art, mindfulness, and emotional wellness through hands-on sensory projects.
Each week features a calming, seasonal creation designed to promote creativity, relaxation, and self-regulation. Kids will get to make and take home each project, building their own toolkit for mindfulness and emotional expression:
🍂 Week 1: Falling Leaves Sensory Bottles
Capture the swirling colors and movement of autumn in a personalized calming bottle.
🍎 Week 2: Apple Cinnamon Slime
Stretch, squeeze, and smell this cozy fall-inspired slime for a full sensory experience.
🎃 Week 3: Painted Flower Pumpkins
Celebrate beauty and mindfulness by decorating mini pumpkins with hand-painted floral designs.
Led by licensed teacher Tara Willits, each session creates a peaceful, supportive space where kids can unwind after school, connect with peers, and tap into their creativity.
